i just used the build feature on the ford website.. the Ford Explorer with the ecoboost and the add-ons I would want is like $41,000 and still doesn't get 30mpg.. can we get the price tag to roll down juuuust a bit?

"The add-ons I would want" always comes to $41,000. They've got that algorithm down pat.

    Default Ecoboost

I watched way too many other year videos on the Ecoboost, a very technically advanced motor. Ford has a lot of cool motors in all their rides, a lot of turbos......Mark

I have the NA version in my Interceptor, but wish I had the EB engine. They are 2 different cars. Problem with this V6(and the 3.7) is the water pump is driven off the timing chain. If it does more than weep, it will kill the engine, as it will be dumping coolant right into the oil pan. I paid the stealership $1800 to do one, because no local shops would touch the job, and it was beyond what I could do at the time with what I had at the time. I'm told you can do it with the front cradle in, and no lift, but it is a 3 day job that way. The ford manual says put it on a lift, drop the cradle and engine/trans, and do the pump on the shop floor.
