    Default Jeepinsoldier salute

    Congrats, Alex!

After turning over your blackberry to the new guy and partying last night, you can't get much closer to retirement than that, no matter the official date.

Great meeting your family yesterday too.

Best of luck in the next chapter, man.

Alex, thank you for your many years of service to our country. It was obvious that you did a bang up job by the accolades and respect you were given last night. Absolutely had a good time last night meeting your family. Congrats on joining the "R" club. Now you can wrench and wheel....for a little while before you have to get a job.

Thanks to all who helped me celebrate!

Well, the outta state guests have finally departed, I have finished clearing the Army, my VA claim is submitted. Now I can start the 50 million projects around the house, fix the Jeeps, and find another job.

Might actually get to do some wheelin in there. In the last week or so I remembered what it was like to actually get some sleep......

In that brief time I called retirement, the best part was never having to wake up to an alarm clock.

I agree. However, tomorrow I have to tackle cleaning out the backyard shed. As its supposed to be a hundred out again tomorrow - guess I gotta get up early and do it before it gets too hot. Great thing is later I can take a nap!

Damn, I must be getting old LOL.
