I've been having intermittent problems shifting into 4WD, usually when its freezing out. When it's warm out, it will go into 4WD if you rev the engine, but not at idle so I'm sure it's a vacuum problem.
I crawled under the jeep with a nice coil of vacuum hose and was going to connect the motor directly to the vacuum source, but to my surprise, there is two vacuum connections. I also couldn't find the vacuum connection going to the transfer case.
Has anyone done this before and know where to get a vacuum source, and how to connect it to the shift motor?

Stick a TJ shaft in it and call it a day.

The vacuum source for the T-case is a 4-prong fitting on the top-passenger side of the transfer case.... I had this same problem last winter, ended up being ice in the vacuum lines....

mine used to not engage when cold out. i was told that there was moisture on the diaphram in actuator on the axle and that it was freezing it in place so it couldn't activate the mechanism.

I checked the vacuum lines and they are all cracked so I'm looking at either getting the posi-lok or just hooking up vacuum stright from the manifold.
Has anyone ever used the posi-lok, not the cable one but the full time one? It's only $60...
the full time will shortn your turn radius, and you take a chance of breaking an axel.

I decided to replace the vacuum hoses before going with a posi-lok, but can't find the vacuum source going to the transfer case. Does anyone have a vacuum diagram? The diagram I have only shows the emissions, not the locking part.
