Anybody got any tricks to get a yoke nut off? Impact gun won't get it off.

I have never had an impact not work. put some oil in the gun and make sure she is turned all the way up and you have more than 90 psi in the line to the impact.

I've never had impact work either. But then my impact is not that great. To do it by hand I need a way to hold the yoke still since tires are off the ground to get underneath.

at shop night we used 2-foot breaker bar on the nut and the largest crescent wrench we could find on the yoke - the WJ always took a village :whoo:

I use a chain wrench on the yolk and a long breaker bar on the nut

some times I just hold it with my bare hands But a large adjustable wrench always does a great job holding the flange.

I got it. I used a different impact gun and it did it. I'm gonna have to buy a good one.

Cheap harbor freight nut splitter/or cold chisel and a new nut....however, using a good penetrant, heat, and Mike's suggested settings for an impact should work. Just leave it hammering away and it will come.
