New Engine?

I have an 87 YJ with the 4.2. I have a lower end knock with metal shavings in the oil. I want to just go ahead and replace the motor with a remanufactured 4.2. I have been looking at the Jasper and Hyperformer engines. Are there any recommendations for a good, reliable reasonably priced remanufactured engine?

I don't have any input regarding a Jasper or anything, but what about finding a good donor?

Seems like lots of 4.2's out there, thought I had seen a stroker on one of the club boards locally.

Just a thought, maybe you could save a little coin that way?

Thanks for the input. I didnt relize colleges out there do rebuilds and sell them. Also, the jeep is currently at the shop and my mechanic says he thinks its the exhaust knocking off the subframe by the transfer case. He also said the oil looks good. Maybe it was just me. Has anyone heard of the exhaust knocking off the frame like that? I could have sworn it was coming from the motor. The mechanic said it was probably echoing off the bell housing. Anyway, I am bringing him a dynomax catback tomorrow and going to have him rerun the whole exhaust. Anyone had this problem before?
