Unfortunately we are unable to keep fostering this good boy anymore. We've had a hard time placing him because he's a pit/lab mix so I'm stretching out here to see if anyone can help us out.

He's a great dog, chocolate lab/pit mix, about 2.5yrs old and gets along great with kids, cats, dogs, horses, geese, whatever. He's fixed as well. He's house trained and cage trained, but does whine in his cage for a bit before he settles down. He's been sleeping at the foot of our bed with Sasha and doing very well for the last 4 months or so that we've had him.

We had taken him on so he wouldn't get put to sleep in a shelter, but he's a bit active for our small house and newborn. He's very good on and off the leash. While he doesn't know a ton of commands (basically sit and no), he is very attentive and will come when called outside.

I have a crate, some food and toys and everything else you should need for him if you decide to take him. He loves rides in the jeep too.

Hi there.... I am moving into a "not so good" neighborhood, and would like a big dog to kinda make people think twice about coming onto the property. I went to the SPCA yesterday and didnt find a dog, but somehow managed to come home with a kitten they were about to destroy. Go figure... but anyway, I would be interested. You can email me at hannajeep@yahoo.com with your phone number and I will give you a call. Thanks, have a great day!

First of all, he is not an aggressive dog by any means. If you plan to leave him out in the yard on a chain to ward off people then no, I won't give him up.

He will bark when he hears someone outside the house.

He will protect the family he lives with.

But he's not a good guard dog.

Pit bulls have a bad enough rap right now that I'm not going to contribute to it by letting one of my fosters get into that kind of situation.

If you want a dog that is good with kids, great with family and don't have to worry about running off or getting in fights with anyone and every animal he sees, then he would be good. He is an inside dog though and gets nervous when left outside alone.

Also keep in mind, without having known you first, we usually come by and check out the premises where he would be staying to make sure he would be taken care of.

...and that email address came back undeliverable.

okay, lets try to get a better understanding........ the email address is hannajeep33@yahoo.com. sorry, I left off the 33.

I am not looking for a dog that lives on a chain in the backyard. I have owned large breed dogs for years and had to put our St. Bernard down last year due to kidney failure. He was the biggest lap dog you have ever seen. My dogs have always been inside dogs.

I am also not looking for an agressive dog. I fully realize the stigma attached to all large breeds, especially pits and rotties. I am however, looking for a dog that will become part of the family and love us enough to protect us should someone unwanted try to come into the yard/ house. Because alot of people do not understand that it isnt the breed that is bad, but the owner, people tend to shy away from larger dogs. The ill informed stupid people are the ones I am hoping will see a large dog around the house and steer clear!

Please send an email with your phone number and I will be in touch. If you would like to check out a little about me you can do so at http://mandyslifeasiknowit.spaces.msn.com/
Sorry about the wrong email earlier.

email sent, sorry for the mixup. I've gotten a lot of sketchy requests about him because of his mix from the area and have had to turn down quite a few people, so I'm usually on the defensive from the start.
