Anyone got one laying around and would like for me to take it off your hands for a reasonable fee without an outragious $40 in S&H attached like the ones I am seeing on eBay?

Dave what is wrong with the one you have ? they are pretty simple to repair.

Not true. The YJ steering box mounts with 4 ears rather than 3 as on the XJ. Also has a different ratio (3:1).

How sure are you about that one?

I got flat spots in the steering roughly every 30 degrees. Jacked up the front end and checked all the joints for looseness. Then manually pushed the tires across range of motion with the engine off and I can feel the steering catching at points, not the u-joints in the steering shaft or alignment and I am guessing that eliminates the power steering pump as a problem.
I had to park off camber last weekend and jammed my front end into some trees to make sure it didn't wander off. To get out I had to crank the wheel all the way a couple times to get loose. That's my best guess what caused it. It drives fine but is a little odd feeling.

You have a nut on top of the box with an allen screw in the middle. Hold the screw still and loosen the nut. Turn the scre in a 1/4 turn and lock down the nut. See if that does anything for you. You can do this 2 more times if needed.
