Frank Patrick and I had a blast. Will post pics soon. Unfortunately, I had too much of a blast. Here's a list of my carnage, most of which I just saw when I got home.
- bent my left rear shock mount bracket up an inch
- ripped the Rubi Express rear track bar relo bracket in half, so trackbar is no longer attached to axle
- ripped the rear driveshaft out of the axle flange when I tried to pull into the garage
- blew out the rear steel brake line that runs across the rear axle (the rigid steel one, not the one to the wheel)
Other than all that, it was a hell of a trip. But with no brakes, no driveshaft, no axle, I'm not going to be wheeling for a while.

There were more cameras than rigs on this trip. I'll be posting pics and vids shortly, and there'll be others.
Didn't think I had any carnage until I saw this on the rear passenger wheel. I think it really started to leak on the way home. Didn't see anything unusual in the Hampton parking lot this morning. Add it to the list of things I don't have time to fix -- and safety inspection is due in June.

And some vids. http://s289.photobucket.com/albums/ll237/wjcando/
We would have liked to have a few more members participate, but as you'll see, you can have a lot of fun and cover a lot of ground with just three rigs.

Trust me, wanted to be there. Really wanted to go. But the CJ isn't a 3 hour plus one way then wheel all day then drive home rig.
And the tow rig is still under construction.....
If I had brought the TJ I might have been divorced.

Oops, and I almost forgot...once again, Frank was my savior. After wheeling the Jeeps, I thought it would be fun to take the truck out on the green trails. It did fine, aside from scraping the front skid a couple times. When we decided to turn around, I tried to turn down a little hilll between a stump and a tree...on mulch. I slid. Almost hit the tree. Frank rescued me by winching the truck's rear end away from the tree.
Cookie Man saves the day yet again. :first:

I can't find the trackbar relocation bracket anywhere because Rubi Express went out of business. Would anyone be able to weld the existing bracket back together for me?

This is the part: RE1602
http://www.rubiconexpress.com/JeepParts/Product.aspx?folder=JPRTB&part=RE1602
The problem is that their manufacturing has been shut down for months, so there aren't any parts. No one stocks their stuff, they just put an order in and RE would drop ship it (that's what their rep told me), so no one actually has it in stock.

Here are the pics of my baby's demise...not sure if the bracket can even be welded, given where the tear is. And, looking at the pics for the first time, I don't think it was the Rubi Express bracket that ripped...I think it was the stock one that goes over top the RE one. That should be easier to replace I wold think...

And here's a shot of what happened to the rear driveshaft when I tried to drive it, as well as the rear solid brake line...
