Bumpers are from 3/16" wall 2x4 tube. Shackle mounts are 1" x 2" stock, cut to length, with holes drilled by the machine shop to fit the shackle bolt.

I wanted to do that myself too, but figured my drill would hate me, I have no drill press, and a bit that big would cost me.

Standard design as done by many on every other forum out there.

All tabs and end caps are 3/16" flat stock, cut and hammered to fit then welded.

Spool of wire used in the 2 bumpers. :tinysmile_aha_t:

Even with a new spool of wire, couple flapper wheels, a couple cutting disks, the steel, and the machine shop labor for cutting/drilling the thick stuff, under $165 for what I have made here.

Mike's plasma was a Godsend, made getting through the tube really easy. Pleased with my welds, looks like I got some good penetration, the bead was eating into the shackle mounts which are 1" thick. And my beads are purty.

Theresa's rear bumper, 95% done, needs bottom bolt tabs, and wire wheeled/painted,

My front stubby, 2 more tabs at 90 degree to catch the 1" winch bolts and it is ready for paint

Thanks for the cmpliments. Will: <<flipoffsmilie>> :D Your wife likes my dirt bish. :D

Thinking hard about going ahead and getting the front 44 to go in. On a CJ it requires the springs to be "outboarded" to the outside of the frame.

Not a real big deal, but I would need to make 4 brackets. That could absorb some time fabbing.

For other fab, probably work on my trailer fenders, replace a bent rear crossmember, and fab some heavy duty light buckets.

If I can afford it, I may do the auto/transfer case swap really soon too, although not really fab. More of a bolt on and add parts kind of thing.

Not a huge amount of coin, but the shifter, kickdown I want are bling, and driveshafts might need cut. Oh and I'll need a good cooler, and a flexplate too.

Depends on tax refunds and if I ever get a solid week in at work. Or work at all. ;)

Would love to do both before it gets butt hot out.

Not a bad idea for extra coin.... I'll fork up the money in advance for parts for a 50 / 50 cut on profits :tinysmile_fatgrin_t

What the fruck is a redneck pig bumper Mike? :tinysmile_fatgrin_t

All done with mine. 90 degree tabs made and welded to capture the monster winch bolts, all other hardware is grade 8.

Painted. Done. Need to fix a couple tabs on T's rear bumper, and add a CB mount, and 2 or 4 more bolts. Finish that tomorrow, and start her front.

I am considering putting a winch hoop on it. Not a huge stinger thing, just a short hoop to protect the winch. Might wait a while though. This sits out in front of the winch. Stock bumper was flush with the fairlead.

I like it it looks good.

Course if you name it "Redneck Pig Bumpers" you need to do a welding bead signature of 'RPB' on the bumper front.
