I need some help. I have a 2010 Wrangler
Unlimited Sports 4 doors, 4x4 with 3.21 axle with Dana 44 Heavy
Duty Rear axle, and Dana 30 solid front axle with trac-lok limited slip rear
differential. Contacted Jeep customer service and asked how much towing capacity I have on my current vehicle and provided them with the VIN number. Received three replies 1000lbs, 2000lbs, and 3500lbs. The manual shows for the axle ratio 2,000lbs towing capacity. The only thing I dont know if the manual adjusted their towing capacity with the heavy duty dana. Why I ask? I purchased a bowrider boat maximum weight with trailer 3100lbs. I have to assume that my axle ratio is not sufficient to pull the boat. Where in the Northern VA area I can take my Jeep and replace the axle ratio to a 3.73 or higher on my Jeep. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thank you for the information. I spoke with Bobby from High Tech Chantilly, and I was very happy with his response and very knowledgeable. Suggested to move up to 3.73 axle ratio and that should provided me with the 80% solution. I only will be towing 2 to 3 times a year to the boat dealer. There are other options, ie. better suspension, etc but for the few times I am going to tow the boat the axle ratio change should be sufficient.

Are you planning on modifying it at all? If you plan on putting bigger tires on, I'd go with 4.11 or even bigger..... Shucks, even the rubicon comes stock with 4.11 gears...

I am not planning to put new tires or going off-road, only towing.
