So as some or maybe most of you know I am in the military and currently am sitting on orders that will transfer me overseas for the next 12 months. Tonight is my last night in the states as I start my nearly 13 hour plane ride to Turkey.

While my time with the Beltway Jeepers has been short dont count me out just yet. I may not be here in person to taunt you into taking the hard line at Crozet or to BS on the trails or see how far underwater I can sink my Jeep, but I will still have access to a computer. As such look for me to come here and forget that Im not at Pirates of the Rubicon and try to start trouble. I KID I KID......just a little!!!!!

I wanted to thank all of you here on Beltway Jeepers all the way from the BOD and those who started this club down to the new guy who just joined and all of those who continue to make this club as strong as it is. While not looking to bash any other clubs I do want to thank everyone for allowing me to have the kind of time I always wanted to with a Jeep club. I can only hope that in the future I will get to meet people as fine as those in this club. It is truely the people that make this club what it is, and I will miss this club a great deal.

I have really enjoyed attending the meet and great, the trail rides and the helping hand and advice when ever I had a question or problem with my Jeep. Your time, advice, help and friendship not only online but on the trails has been invaluable.

As I depart I want to ask one thing, that no matter where I go someone here will continue to send me membership packets so that I can always call myself a Beltway Jeeper.

And one last thing.....look for a huge build up party when I return in mid June 2007. Im talkin Nth degree lift, 33's, new steering the whole shebang!!!

So long and thanks for all the fish!!!!!!!!!

Details as follows for those not completely in the know:

Leave 1 June for 12 months in Turkey. Return in June 2007. Pickup the wife, dog, Jeep and HHG's and its off to Ramstein Germany for 3 years and after....hopefully Utah, eastern Cali, Arizona or New Mexico....

Thank you everyone for the very kind words. While I dont have much time to write I did want to say this. NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.....DONT EVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT A PASSPORT.....AND FOR MILITARY....IF YOU CAN MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NATO ORDERS IF YOU CAN GET THEM.

My trip was nearly cut short leaving me stuck in Istanbul if I hadnt had a passport....which numerous people in the military I wouldnt need. I knew they were wrong....had I not had that, I would have had to fly back to the states.....

Mucho crazy trip so far. Almost over the jet lag.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

More laters.

Phil

Phillip, Be safe and have lots of fun. Living with and learning from other people and cultures is fun.

Will Ethel be allowed to fly over to visit? Take lots of pictures and keep in touch.
