I know where some 2.5ton military trailers are for $450. They'll haul an ATV or two. They are BIG though.

They are bigger than the ones you normally see behind a jeep. I'm looking for a 1.5 ton or less.

Check out the ones at Harbour Freight, they are less than $175 and are available at their store near Potomic Mills Mall.

They are OK and will haul an ATV or Motorcycle. You will need some plywood to make a deck, but otherwise it's ready to go and actually folds up for vertical storage.

I need something just for weekly dump runs. That would be perfect with a box on it.

I have one already. It does not do very well on beach sand. Tires are too thin. Other than that it is sweet.

Think I'm going to pick one up this weekend. Anyone got an address or phone number for the place?

I have an ATV trailer I purchased at the Motorcycle Factory at Woodbridge, VA with dual gates one ATV side loads, the other rear loads. I tow two ATV's with the Jeep (TJ) and found it was between difficult and unsafe when I got cut off in Springfield and had to lock 'em up in a cloud of smoke! I pulled the hubs, added trailer brakes and installed a 7-way on the Jeep with a intertial brake controller, it's a perfect setup now. I realize I'm at about 1,900#s behind the Jeep, but it seems to work.
The $150 Harbor Freight trailer is great, however I'm all about the convenience of just dropping the gate and loading/unloading. I don't know if this is an issue for you, but being able to drive 'em on the trailer is a huge consideration for me... I assume you could add decking, some eye hooks, and ramps or a gate, but also consider you'll soon be wanting to carry gear like gas cans. I have a 750 V-Twin 4-wheeler and she loves to drink the go-juice. I just went through all this ramp-up earlier this summer, ATVing is great, but you just have to bring everything with you.

I say build it, this thing runs great on the sand, I will have it at Crozet on the 11 of Feb if anyone wants to check it out.
