Want to Borrow an External USB DVD ROM for $$$$$

My dvd rom in my computer has taken a dump on me and IBM tells me its going to cost 300 bux to replace it. I only need it for another week so I cant see spending 300 bux on one.

If anyone has an external DVD ROM that I can hook up (USB) to my computer I would be greatly appreciative.

I might even have some cash for anyone who would let me borrow one from them.

I kind of need this quick.

I have an internal dvd rom (not writer or anything), IDE type. Right here on my desk in herndon.

It's actually brand new, never used. Was upgraded with dvd-rw in some ibm thinkcenters.

sorry, its got to be an external one. my ibm netvista actually uses an ibm laptop slim dvd rom so a normal dvd rom drive wont fit.

Ummmm... I think I have a couple of those. Can you get me a model number? I have 2-3 of those thinkpad dvd drives.

Thanks for the offer, but I need just a bit more. Im actually only burning the disks to my hard drive for a couple of hours....long enought to turn them into mpeg4 files so that I can drop them onto my Playstation Portable.
