So I started on cutting a spare set of doors I had. I cut 14" out of them and got some trim panels welded up. Still need to do something for an armrest and cut out some sheet metal for interior, but they're not looking that bad IMO.
I'll post pics tomorrow as I left my cable for the digicam at work :(

Some nasty welds yeah, but it'll work. That's what they make bondo for!

yeah it still works...
Gonna try to look for or make a new one that will fit on the outside and leave the button intact. Something that looks kinda like the tie-downs on boats, but smaller. Maybe little finger handles on each side (1-2" long) and cut the hole in the center to fit. Would make an easier handle and not have to leave the stock handle sticking out to snag on things.

Or maybe dump the handle completely. I left the solonoid for the power locks in it and they still work. I could rig it up on a wireless or pushbutton to actually flip the latch instead of the lock.
Well just think about playing in the water and power door handles?

heh... might not work then. The handle still works though so that's all I'm worried about.

They look awesome.. started off ewww what is he doing to... damn... looks great. I would suggest that you put in a grab handle and just jump through the 'window' rather then dealing with opening and closing the door. A "cup" holder would look pretty cool in there too!! :D

yeah planning on doing a cupholder, just need to get some lightweight aluminum or something to make one with. I don't feel like bending this 1/8" crap into a 5" circle and trying to hold it there and keep straight.
