Engine Check Light

My engine check light came on this morning, oil pressure is OK, temp, charging all ok, don't really see anything wrong.

So how do you check the codes on a YJ????

Ok, turn the jeep upsidedown and cross the batt terminals, then turn the wipers on, then take the spare tire a off and roll it with a stick down your street twice. then go inside your home and drink a glass of warm milk..................................I dont know how to read them w/ out a scanner

really, in the little diagnostic port under your dash w/ the key off take a paper clip and groung the A & B ports to get the light to flash the codes on the dash?

I don't think mine is that sophisticated...just put some duct tape over the light.

ehhh... on the XJ I think you just turn the key off/on like 3 times or something and the light blinks the code.

It says how to read them in a chiltons or hayne's...

they have check engine lights? Hit the carb with a hammer... that used to work for my YJ before I swapped the engine! :)

When I went out for lunch, it was off???? My ABS light does that occasionally too, strange!!
