Ok so I did the first half of the WJ brake upgrade today. Consists of master cyl and booster from a WJ from the local scrap yard. Took about 3hrs total to get work and DAMN! It's a big difference.
I have some new dual piston front calipers I'm going to try to tackle this weekend that are supposed to be a direct fit to the stock rotors and brackets. We'll see how easy it is.
are they the WJ brakes? If so they are not a direct replacement for the xj brakes. They are made for a larger disc and the bolt pattern is different. Also 99 was a bad year for them as they caused some warping issues.
If you need any info I've done the wj swap and it makes a large difference.

I forget where I found the writeup on naxja or jeepforums, but I think it was for a 00-01 front calipers. They were cheap, i think $65 for the whole package from the junkyard so I picked them up. I'm quite happy with just the master/booster upgrade though.
I'm sure it'll be 6mo before I get around to working on it though as long as it took me to do this.
