Looking for some folks to lend a hand whether it be advice on the forum or if you are in NOVA that would like to lend a hand turning wrenches. Had some work done about a year ago (wish I hadn't) and my Jeep is jacked up as a result. Need to fix steering issues, re-weld some shock mounts and get my ebrake installed.

Give me a shout if you're a CJ guy on the forum, especially if you're in the Northern VA area.

I'm not going into much detail on this post as I want to see what you all see WRONG with the Jeep. Please reply and point out anything you see messed up, out of order. I'm having a dispute on another forum with the fabricator that butchered the Jeep. I'd like to see how many people will notice the discrepancies and what you think they are.

Well I see a few things wrong such at steering angles missing boots steering hitting the leaf springs Spring Shackles twisted and Shocks not installed correctly into the proper mounting locations along with the rear shock not installed in the correct locations as well . There a pissy welds done on the front and rear with the spring over conversion and from what I can see the parking brake cable don't fit anymore because of the lift. This just looking real quick and I know nothing about Jeeps! Oh yeah where is the front shaft?

Steering Angles missing boots???

As for the other items, you're dead on. There are more, but I'm seeing what other people notice. All I know is that it doesn't drive well on the road.....it's sat for a year unmoved.

There should be grease boots on all steering joints which are currently missing in this picture

This joint should have the ball centered so that it has full movement plus the missing boot. Plus where are the nuts from the steering arm and the concave spacers? I see one on it's side on top of the arm. Really nice cotter pins too.

Thanks for the gouge. The bolts are countersunk in the spacers by the way. You know anyone in the area that you could recommend for me to hit up to help me fix some of these issues?

I don't know much about CJ's but a lot looks wrong to me... I passed the thread on to a buddy of mine in PA who has built quite a few CJ's, so hopefully he can chime in later today with more knowledge.

Couple of the spring perches don't look welded. The ones that are only looked tacked.

The steering, looks like the draglink is upside down at the pitman arm. Looks the arms need risers or something.

Brakelines need to be longer. The brakeline hanger is tacked to the bumpstop?

The crossmember for the antui-wrap bar, needs to be re-done I would think. The mount is only welded to the angle iron on one side too.

Not much holding it in. Not sure if the shackle should be down versus up.

The shocks, mounted wrong. The upper shock mount could be changed to the older style Ford mounts. Looks like they cut off your stock one and turned it sideways and kerfukulated it.

Where's the front DS?

Looks like the front springs were outboarded, but looks like they lack fab skills with the welds and things don't look like true 90 on some of their bracketry.

The shackles could be better. Something with a brace in the middle.

And what Mike said about HawaiiCJ (Dave). He's been a huge help with answering questions, giving advise, as well as H2Recovery and Truck.

All those guys helped me put mine together and keep mine together.

I ain't no expert, but I'd say that is some f'd up stuff. Don't even think I could screw it up that bad on my own.

Dave is a great starting point for CJ questions. Some of those welds look like my practice ones. (I really suck at welding.)
