TH350

Hi all, I'm looking for a TH350 tranny for my Scrambler. Mine went south a couple of weekends ago when I was wheeling in Northern NJ. I'm not an auto guy this is just what was in it, so I want things to be simple. This tranny is currently between a Chevy 305 and NP205. I know a 700r4 could swap in but I don't know all the little things that would be required to make this happen.

shorten the rear shaft 3/4 of an inch and lenth the front 1/2" My buddy in SC had the same set up as you. we then swaped in a 700. youll need a press cutoff switch for the torque converter. Ill call and see wich switch he used if you end up doing the swap.

I've got a 700r4 mated to a 231 in my S10 Blazer. I was thinking of holding on to the 231 in case I ever need one when I get rid of the blazer, but I may be talked out of it and the trans. :) The real hassle is that the thing is still in the blazer, and would need to be removed. :(

Dang i thought i did respond. Sorry Truck. I have 3 700r4s in working condition but they need the output shaft replace to make them 4x4 units. I have the shafts just haven't done the swaps yet. been pretty tied up. The shafts are for 272 transfer cases not 231 or 300. What transfer case do you have?
