Since I forgot to take a picture of the new axle before I stripped it, here is the after :)

It took me a few hours to cut some plates and strip it completely.

Ready to weld armor plates, truss, and brackets. I will post pictures as things get done.

The good news

Parts are here, axle is market, the welding will be done tomorrow.

Bad news


I found a chipped tooth on my front axle ring and some chunks of metal on my rear axle while draining the fluids.

Great, it seems like have to tear the rear apart now. Good thing I have a full spare for the rear, but now I need to buy a ring and pinion set for the front. :tinysmile_cry_t:

Damn..... Looks like I will also need new front shocks since I dropped the brackets from the top to the bottom of the axle. The current shocks are 13" fully compressed and I have about 9" of the shock shaft showing now

What size shocks do you guys recommend?

The longer shocks have been installed, 6" longer.

All I need now is a locker and the exo-cage.
