Figured I would post this since we are apart of this. This is also the Poker RUN I believe
Registration will open soon. http://s4.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Fellow Wheelers and VA4WDA members,

This is to inform you that Tidewater Fourwheelers will be putting on the Virginia Four Wheel Drive Association (VA4WDA) 17th Annual Trail Ride, September 18-19, 2009.

The price this year will be $80 per vehicle for VA4WDA members and $120 for non-VA4WDA members. The price increase is due to an increase in land use fees. T-shirts will be $15 each. Extra poker hands and meal tickets will remain at $5 each.

There is a 250 vehicle limit again this year. So get those registrations in early to not be left out.

THE EVENT:

The event will be held at Oak Ridge Estate, in Nelson County, VA.

CAMPING:

Primitive camping will be provided for tents, travel trailers and RV’s.
Porta-potties will be provided in the camping area and in the staging area.
A dumpster will be provided near the entrance to the camp site for your camping trash.
No showers will be provided.
And don't forget to bring your lawn chair and flashlight for the raffle and campfire!
There will be a Power Wheels course in the camping area. You will need to provide your own Power Wheels vehicle, none will be provided at the event.

So come to the Trail Ride with expectations of fun, good door prizes, camaraderie with your fellow fourwheelers, a slow pace, larger trail groups, and easy/trying trails (Depends on the weather). We will be running the Oak Ridge Loop again this year. All groups will try to cover all the trails (from the easiest to the more difficult and fun obstacles). We will divide up all the vehicles into equal groups at the staging area so you can either plan to ride along with your friends, or jump in with some new folks this year.

Some of the trails at Oak Ridge are not full-size vehicle friendly. The trees are VERY tight in places. We will do everything in our ability to accommodate you full size vehicle owners on as many of the trails as possible.

PLEASE NOTE: Oak Ridge Estate is private property. Please respect the rights of the property owners. This property is only open for the guided rides for this event. Please do not jeopardize our relationship with the property owners by trespassing. Thank you for your cooperation.

Oak Ridge is a great wheeling place, and not always open because it's private. Wish my rig was trail worthy, I'd be there.

Don't blame it on the rig, it's the driver that's not trail worthy ;)

Definitely a great place to wheel!

Yeah, about that... bad pinion bearing, looking for axle swaps now, meanwhile pulled the front driveshaft so no 4wd right now :tinysmile_cry_t:

I should start a thread about how addicted you can become to this stuff.

Are you looking for used or new axles? I may be able to find you a good deal on a set. It really all depends on what you want and how much you're willind to spend. PM for details.

Used. Going to try to nab an xj high pinion D30 for the front with 3.73 gears. That way we can see how it goes for one axle before having to deal with the rear (which is fine right now, never a problem).

The XJ axle is a bit too narrow, but things like UCA mount on top of diff line up perfectly. Will have to make other adaptations, reuse the WJ brakes, and widen the stance with wheelspacers.

As an alternative, JK axles, esp rubi, are a great swap for the wj, but they're so expensive I can't see putting that much more into this rig. Talked to a guy last night who has a JK d44 rear for sale complete with brakes. That would be great if I could find a front jk D44, but they don't come along often. Maybe even a high pinion jk D30 if the price was right and includes brakes. If I found JK axles at a reasonable cost, it's probably a no brainer.

Third option is to ditch the wj and get something else entirely. But I love my heep.
