When installing body mount rocker/sliders, is a rubber gasket between the rocker and body really needed? Or just mount them and run a bead of silicone around to prevent water and debris from getting between them.

Poison Spyder sold a 'Slider Liner' preformed rubber gasket for the rockers, but they wanted $60 for them. They went out of buisness before I could afford to buy them. I just bit the bullet and spent the $75 for the stock body mounts and I need to get these things outta the garage and on the Jeep.

It will save your paint against rubbing, either way mud and water will get in there..

Alex,
I did not use them on mine......I started to but in the end, i did not. I shot mine with truck bed liner and put them on.
At the end of the day, I think that you would be better off using it though. It really does not matter on my junk, but your rig is a lot nicer.

Thanks guys.

On JeepForum it was posted that he used spray on rubber undercoating from Autozone on the back side of the rocker.

Tuff Stuff Products also markets a sheet of rubber gasket with adhesive on one side.

The rockers are gonna sit longer. Ill order the gaskets on payday. These things are turning into the most expensive rockers ever.

Yesterday we spent $1,000 on a new kitchen floor for the Maine house. It was coming up and the renter was complaining.

LOL!! Actually that was the last renters in the house. Seems like renters actually have more rights than the owner does. We finally had them evicted and are suing them for nonpayment and damages to the house. Them not paying was were alot of my money from the second job went instead of into the Jeep.

This renter pays early each month and her father did alot of the repairs and only asked to be repaid for the supplies. She sent us recipts and pix of the work. So we want to keep her happy while she makes most of the house payment for us..........
