If I remember right she measured it at 55" for the windshield width, which would fit the 2nd Generation CJ-5's (1976 - 1983). (59" was the 1st Gen 1955-75).

I'll let her know to check again.

Yes the windshield measures 55" across so its for the later model cj5.

traded it for dirtbikes.
after attempting to fix it up we decided it didnt have enough room for the family and bill couldnt drive it comfortably.

The guy that we traded with is attempting to sell it. Along with another Jeep.
He originally wanted ours for the motor and tranny, but I've seen both of them out there for sale (no price). If you want we can get the number and all for ya.

I would have had to do something with the steering wheel in order to fit comfortablly in the driver seat. That and hunting down everything to bring it up to hauling family in it was more a headache than it was worth.
But considering we got it cheap than traded it for two dirtbikes, and have been able to sell off the other parts fairly easy, I think we came out ahead in it.

Though towing that CJ-5 behind the Waggy would be fun.

It's funny, cause I actually fit in the old Samurai better than I did the CJ-5.
