When you say 'TEAM', are you referring to a TEAM or a just people in general?

Now if you had a "Team" that went to Big Dogs, VROC etc... that would be cool... kinda like Nascar.. drivers, spotters, parts runner, and mr. /mrs. fix it.

Good idea! We should build a Jeep for competitions only. Beltway Jeepers, Geritol Jeep. I like the sound of it. :P

you can build a 302 pretty damn cheap.

for the block and upper and lower intake on my 302 cost about $125. another 200 for a brand new wiring harness and $35 for the ECU. C6 auto tranny cost 100 and the tcase was free.

I think I'd have to go for a small block Chevy motor...;)

the next Jeep I do will be an LT1 motor... seems to be alot easier to get the little stuff. And they look cooler!!

Hypothetically Speaking: Start-up costs on something like this would be horriable...but hopefully you'd turn out with a capable rig and a capable driver... that would win, to gain some of the start-up and maintance and entree fees back.

Sponsors would be key. Both off-road but local sponsors.

You know...it could even be partly done by FFX HS shop class...hmmm It would be easier to get sponsors for that.

I bet with the amount of "junk" people give a way or sell for xtra cheap at swap meets or online you could build a rock crawler pretty cheap.

I know I have had a set of axles locked with 4.10's sitting in the back of my grand for over a month (which are finally sold and being picked up tonight).

You'd have to create a list of the idea rig, and then start gathering parts. Depending on how this club is set-up it could be a tax write off.

there is a hp30 setup for longarms with bracket skids and all sitting at mikes, and i have 4.10 r&p for it that I'd toss in if you went and really did this. I'd toss the 4.10 dana 44 setup in if you could snag a 44 rear too. If you kept the crawler light that 30 ought to hold for a while (at least until better crap comes around).
Also have spring perches and some miscellaneous thinks like ubolts etc.
