Ok any ideas here?
Got the jeep back today and still no start. Battery was drained dead so the computer did have a chance to restart (hopefully).
Here's what I noticed...
O2 sensor next to the transmission. Wires stripped out of it. Going to replace, but I can't see how that would cause it not to start. It did throw a check engine light on monday though about 5mins before it died.
It turns over fine, but no fire.
Going to start pulling plugs and all that and see if they're firing. And yes it has gas in it, plenty of it.
Anyone know if a disconnected O2 sensor would kill the engine like that though?
sounds like a cps or pick up in the dist.

hopefully something that simple. I think I'm just going to take it off the road alltogether, transfer the tags to another vehicle and do a decent job of building it up this time..

If the wires are bare and the touched metal they may have blown the ecm fuses which will cause the jeep to not start and if it does not crank they could have blown a fusable link to the starter..

Thanks mike. Just checked the fuses under the hood and that's exactly what it was.

Anyone got an O2 sensor (pre-cat) in their parts bin? Autozone wants nearly $80 for one. I'll give ya half that and the rest worth in sexual favors with a gerbil!
cool. glad you figured it out!

well I was going to try to make it up there but had to get other issues taken care of. Unfortunately one thing after another is going wrong with the jeep. Went to start it last night and battery is dead. Turned up being bad alternator.
Not to mention I seriously doubt my jeep would have made it in it's current state of rehabilitation. Still need to swap gear/axle in the front to match the rear so I don't have any 4wd right now. Rear tires are STILL bald cause I haven't been able to make it to stafford to pick the new ones up from my brother's place. Plus this near dozen tickets in one outing last monday is going to kill me on lawyer's fees. While most of them will get dropped, it's still going to cost me upwards of $1500 probably. And since they're all in stafford, I'm not about to face a stafford judge without a decent lawyer.
I'm pulling the rear axle in the big jeep this weekend and putting it in the other one. It has brand new brakes and all that and the gears match up to my 88. considering how much I hate rebuilding brakes, and need a new rear axle anyways if I'm going to run 35's, it's easier to me to switch axles than rebuild the brakes.
I figure give it about 3 months and I might have it worthy again. At least my spare jeep will still make it through GWNF no problem with 3" skyjacker lift so soon as I have this legal situation straightened out I'll be right back there with you guys!

Oh and I said I would try to make it in the trail ride thread, but said my jeep wouldn't and would need someone to ride along with.
