Just got this email from VA4WDA;
From Gregg Jackson
VA4WDA Land Use Chairperson
Dear VA4WDA Members;
The VA4WDA land use committee has been working very hard with the Rangers on the GWNF over the last 2 years. And we have finally gotten in on a project that will hopefully benefit all of us. We have been talking about working on the Rocky Run OHV trail; this trail needs some serious work done to it. There has been an awful lot of illegal usage up there; and some serious damage done that needs to be repaired
At the same time we have been given the go ahead to also design and implement some obstacles on the power line sections of the trail.
If we can show them that we can keep the illegal stuff down to a minimum; get the damage repaired; and that the obstacles that we implement draw usage; there is the potential to do a full scale High clearance “park” on this trail.
I would like to see each club come up with a Land Use officer that is willing to meet with us and help with design; management; and implementation of this project. I can no longer do this alone. I need help; and we feel the best way for this to work is to get everyone involved.
I need a response from everyone with a name; phone# and e-mail for the person willing to take on this project. And this needs to happen quickly so we can start work. I would like to have our first meeting by the end of April; first of May.
Please e-mail me at landuse@va4wda.org (http://us.f656.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Compose?To=landuse@va4wda.org)
Thanks
Gregg Jackson
