I just pickup the LT-20 yesterday at Micro Center (Nutley Rd) on sale for $79. I had already purchased the Topo USA 5.0 software and the LT-20 came with Street Maps 2006. What a set of software! I've converting my waypoints and tracks from the Magellan that I have to the new stuff - WOW!!!!!! Topo USA 5.0 is GREAT in DVD form its only 1 disk in CD form I think it was 6 disk. I don't think you can beat this when you use it with a computer in your Jeep.

Next time you're up there at Micro Center, hit the StarBucks. My Fiancee Susan is the Manager.

I found a laptop mount at an emergency equipment dealer online.
I'll post the link later. I gotta run to work,I hear the dreaded Nextel alert going off down in the garage!

I used it on the last trail ride and it did show all the routes we took. Much better than the Magellan. But remember your giving up passanger room when using the laptop.

Thanks to your guys advice, I went to Micro Center and picked up the Topo USA 5.0 and the Earthmate GPS LT-20. I was a lot cheaper than the winch and GPS system. Now I'm going to go and play with it.

Hey guys, I was thinking for going the computer nav route myself. I saw this set up on a Jeep a few months ago and was thinking of doing the same thing, except I will be using a Pan. Tuffbook so it will be able to stand up against the vibs, dirt & water........

Anyhow here is a pic of what I am talking about. Of course it is primarily set up for Co-Pilot Nav (and my right seater is a 7 yr old little boy) so a back-up Garmin V will still be running on my dash or I may use a small external screen that leads over to my point of view. Heck, the possibilities are endless....

Another shot without the computer showing the mount. Nice system as long as the right side airbag is turned off! Talking about a surprise! Anyhow, just thought that I would share....

no brainer, get the winch, seeing where you are stuck at doesn't help much.

A little much maybe for the DD or Weekend Wheeler (That includes me as well) but the rig was set up for a expedition style race of sorts. When navigation is a key as extreme terrain mobility then it was probably right on the mark. There were some really nice custom mods on the rig....I was looking to buy it and the guy sold it the night before I called to buy it.......but that is ok, I got what I wanted a few weeks later. :D

Cheers!
