should I change my axle oil after swimming?

Hey All,

After us 4 REAL jeepers :P went swimming at dry river while everyone else on the 2nd mountain trip wanted to go home to the stupor bowl, I was wondering if I should change the oil after immersion in 2 feet of water.

You probably should, though its not alwasy necessary. I probably would however since your pumpkin is probably still sealed by a paper gasket which is sealed by the oil, when submerged in water, its much more likely to start leaking. In either case, when you do replace the oil, pull the diff cover and just use RTF (black or Red) to re-seal it, and you'll have less to worry about when you are in the water. Also, you may want to consider extending the breather tubes for your axles up a bit higher if you are going to go in the water in the future.
