TJ Vortec 5.7 Swap

What year Tj and what parts do you have? I have done many engine conversions and i just did a vortec in my brothers tj last year. The thing has crazy HP!!! I'm trying to find a Hemi to put in my tj.

I bought Jeff's (Blondin) 1997 4banger TJ he had for sale. I have not bought an engine or transmission yet. I was going to buy a 97 or later truck 5.7 and auto trans. I do have a t-56 trans from an earlier project, but I don't know if that would be appropriate. I'd prefer an automatic and as simple of a swap possible.

You will be very happy with a 5.7. I have a few bud who have done the LT1 and they love it.

if you are looking 97 and later truck wouldn't that only be 97-99 cause in 00 didn't they change over to the 5.3?

well it was 2000 when they change and it is the 4.9 liter , 5.3 liter and then 6.0 liter.

every 4.9 I ever drove felt bogged down and I thought the 6.0 came in 01 when they release the 1500hd?

nope it was a spo for the suburban and the 3500 from 00 and up
