My owner's manual lists ATF for the transfer, and a special MOPar part number for the trans. Does anybody know of an alternative to dealer prices that will work in the manual in my 2000 TJ?

Thanks!

Gonzo out.

I believe you said its a manual correct?? If it thats what you are saying, then get some 85w-140 fully synthetic or syncromesh. Any autoparts place should carry either

go to advance or auto zone or even fairfax auto parts, 75w-80 or 90 mobile synthetic gear lube will be just fine if you have an AX15. iF YOU HAVE AN NV3550 You need 5w-30 with an atf mix., $4.00 to $8.00 a bottle depending on where you go. You will need 3 bottles.

I use a mix of 5w30 ams-oil and atf from amsoil 2qts of oil to 1/2qrt of trans fluid.

It's a 2K, so I believe I have the NV. I wondered what was so special about it. What's inside that's so different it needs ATF mixed in? Maybe some fiber bearing surfaces like clutchpak material in an autobox?

tolerances in the gear box are tight and the atf is used as a anti foaming agent. all this strait from new venture guys. I have a 2002 it has the nv3550 you need to make sure what you have first?
