When I lifted the Heep 2 wks ago, I don't think we had the handle in the correct location when we took apart the transfer case. The handle doesn't grab any gears at all, and she' definitely stuck in 4H. I'm going to rip it back apart this weekend and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips or pictures of what I'm looking at/for. This is my second time doing this, the first jacking it up. Thanks again for all advice/help offered.

Yes. I think that when we were under there it jerked the handle outta position.

I have the tech manual I can give you in PDF format. 2500 + pages of babble to me, but it may make some sense to you and maybe help you out.

Sure. Can you pop it to my email? Or does it have to be on a disk?

It is 50 plus megs. I will just burn it to a CD or throw it on one of those memory sticks and keep it in my jeep..

I didn't get a chance to crack it this weekend. I'm gonna shoot for soon though. Maybe next weekend. I just don't have a clue what I'm doing. I'm about to start begging people that know what the hell is up with it. I couldn't even get my pitman arm off today. We broke one puller and bent the crap out of the other. I gave up and helped my buddy lift his jeep.

Wish I could help out, but I only know what I learn at wrenching parties, so my knowledge base is limited. Heck, being at the lift install these past two days finally showed me the parts of the suspension that I keep hearing people refer to. I learned a lot these past two days.
That tech manual has a lot of info, but it is in PDF format so you will have to print the pages that you need unless you use a laptop. If needed, I will bring my laptop.
I wanted to hit the cleanup, but if you are working on your jeep that day I may try to help you with the problem. I know it must suck gas like crazy and it cannot be that good being in 4 every day for your daily driver.
This weekend I thought that vice grips were the cure for every problem, but this sounds a little deeper than that. :)

Hah. Those vice grips....no words can fill the void in my life without them...
Dude, I'm at the pump every other day almost. It's a pretty big treat if I can go four days. We're gonna figure it out. I don't want to take away from anyone's time at a club event. I'll figure it out, I just need to surf the net for a few hours and find what I'm looking for.
ps-Sidebar comment, I almost gave up on the 8.8, but Jen is keeping me motivated.

Didn't. He's going out to buy a tool for it today. Had a bad scare when he drove off. Trackbar came apart when he was going down Gunston(not enough threads). Wheels were chirping and jeep was jerking. He probably crapped his pants.

Blame it on Kevin.

Well, I give up. I'm frustrated, so I'm paying someone to do it.

And that sounds like a different problem. I'm pretty sure mine is re-assembly error.
