come out wed to mighty mikes meet and greet . let me see your rear bumper. I might be able to make you a mount on the rear bumper behind your spare.

if you know cline from nj, I gave him a set of those "highlift" mounts, you can put them on a bumper or pretty much anywhere.....we set his up on the rear two roll bars facing out to the back window...keeping the hilift inside out of the weather...and slightly more theft proof, going on the theory of, if you cant see it, they might not take it lol...plus the mounts have a hole drilled in the shaft so you can use a small masterlock if you chose to also aide in antitheft. I belive you can pick up a set o fthese for like 24 bucks off of any offroad site, or check ebay.....Mine is on the highlift carrier mount on my spare tire/bumper....
I love having an xj so I can store it inside

While that is nice, I love taking my top off even more.

I did that several months ago. It was mounted in back between the roll bars, but it was always in the way. Plus if I get hit in the rear, it's a lot beefier than most bumpers...

I have mine mounted to my roll bars in the back of the jeep, it is mounted hanging from the bottom of my bars at the top rear curve. Easily acceccible from the rear window of the jeep.

I need to find a permanent location, at the moment I have it on the back of my jeep.

Im all for the hood! I find it easier to get to! Trust me! I've been stuck in alot of places.... it was easier for me to climb on the hood to get it off! just get the master locks for it! :D

Do we want to wait that long? If Mike hooks me up, I'll like to get it installed on my rear bumper, but if there is no way to make that happen, then I'm mounting it on my hood.

Can you e-mail me some close ups of your hood mount. Also, please let me know the brand of mounts, locks, etc.
Thanks!

I like the hood idea, but I feel don't like having it sitting out there all the time advertising the possibility of some yahoo trying to steal it of mess with it. Tig, do you leave yours always on?

YES never had a problem. I have 2 master locks on it ! They would have to have bolt cutters to even think of getting it off. And I dont think that would work on the size of the locks..
