What about shopnight? You would have the lift, air, all the tools, and several people to help.

Did you already pick up the new bushings, disconnects and bar pin eliminators? You are also going to need a hardened drill bit/oil to drill out the front frame mount track bar bracket. The hole needs to be bigger becouse the bolt for the RE track bar is larger.

I know Mike has some serious bits at the school, becouse he made short work of drilling my steering knuckles during the RC steering install.

Depends on hte size bit. I didnt think you need to drill it with the Adj track bar.
Im not too sure we could get the lift done in one shop night.

Pacifier

You do need to drill the hole bigger for the RE adjustable track bar. I believe I have the bit, but you may want to bring a power drill if you have one.

CarrieinVa
08-12-2007, 12:57 AM
We have drills, power and 18v.
I think Diegos is gonna work. No rushing to make it from work, no having to get up early the next day. If something breaks we have time to fix it.
We appreciate it.

If we don't get yours done, you can always leave yours behind until we get it finished. You're also welcome to borrow one of my Jeeps if needed ( not pacifier) :).

You do not have to drill a second hole like when you relocate the stock track bar (Which is a bad idea anyway). But you do need to drill the existing hole larger.

Dont forget drilling oil. Use the oil and go slow. Guy who installed my lift said he burned up three bits without it.

Cool, thanks for the list. We are getting stuff in a pile so its all ready. I dont think we will have the bar pin eliminators by then... Primal is going to put the shock relocation brackets on one day this week. Bushings, rear track bar, and mm lift are in. Shocks are ordered. Discos will be ordered tomorrow morning. I think all the ducks are in a row... think... -C

Denise, Why don't we just do yours on Saturday so that we don't have to rush and get the job done right the first time. Off course, you're still welcome to join us and watch as we do Scott's Jeep.

Things to bring: 6 pack or Coors light :), one large bottle xynol or acetone, and your great personality.

What a great time yesterday!

Good friends, great weather, tools , and Jeeps! What more could one ask for?

Alot of work was accomplished this weekend. Diego got the valve cover and diff leaks fixed on his new XJ Friday as well as mounting work lights on the Pacifier and driving lights on the XJ. Scott Herculined the entire inside of his tub Friday as well. Thursday I installed the new Tuffy Unlimited drawer.

Yesterday went really well and alot of work got done. Carrie's LJ grew! It got an RE lift, belly up skid plate, and a motor mount lift. Keith really worked hard and was under the Jeep all day. Diego, Scott, and Dave worked on various different parts, and Carrie and I had fun bleeding the brakes. ('Wow, thats coming out fast!' 'Did that just hit you in the eye?, What are the odds?' ) The Jeep looks terrific! Here are some pix of the action:

I went on a parts run, met a fellow Jeeper who was looking for a club, and he followed me back to the house for a while. It was good to meet you Justin.

Scott gave me the remainder of the Herculiner that was left from his Friday project, so we prepped the top of the Tuffy drawer in my Jeep and then Scott expertly applied it for me! It looks really good.

Well its done. No blood was shed and we only ended up with some death wobble that was quickly corrected. All in all it took about 7 hours to do the lift, belly up, motor mounts and align the front. With some breaks for food and fun. Thanks to all who showed. We could have never done it without you and thanks to Diego for hosting. Alex, your kids are great!!!

Carrie,

Your Jeep is awesome on the 35's!

You gotta post how it performs after you take it to Crozet this weekend. Looking at the picture, you are going to have an excellent approach angle with the 35's and the stubby bumper.

I cannot wait to see it in person.
